Introduction to Volume 4 of The Work:
In 2006 Michael Close began a series of e-books which he titled The Work. Using the latest technology, Mike combined step by step written lessons with embedded video to teach many and varied methods for palming cards. In the introduction to the first volume Mike wrote:
‘My intention is for this ebook to be the first chapter in a continuing series that examines the core sleights of card magic and explains them in fresh ways, providing exercises that will allow the student to progress (with conscientious practice) at a rapid rate.’
I am extremely grateful that Mike has given me permission to take on the Work series, and I hope I can carry on the high standards he has set. Although I will be starting with more card magic, I hope to be able to branch out into other magic disciplines over time, so that we can build up a comprehensive course of magic.
