Mnemonica is a phenomenon! I'm always also interested in the origins of magical effects as well as the effect itself, and this book does both. It's truly a thorough exploration of mem deck work, with hundreds of effects and a large section on sleights (not essential, as many effects don't need any) plus a comprehensive annotated bibliography, which as an academic I appreciate. Tamariz is one of magics greats, and this book shows us why. I will however point out a couple of downsides, which is why it didn't get 5 stars. The book is comprehensive but perhaps could have been laid out better to 'layer' the reader into the subject. There are also better ways to learn the stack (eg the Memory Arts book). I'm not keen on the method shown in Mnemonica. However, this book shows one of the most powerful effects card magic can muster. To be recommended.

This book is grade-A magic for the dedicated magician. It will take some time to be able to perform Tamariz's magic, however I feel the time is well worth it. Not just a book of tricks, he also covers some very useful sleights. I will be using material from this book for years to come.

This book is amazing! With 8 and 1/2 pages of just the contents you know you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck. This will teach you over 100 tricks that all have one thing in common-the Mnemonica stack. This means once you learn it the bulk of the tricks will come easier. It also has a section devoted to useful sleights such as the Hofzinser’s Spread Cull. I go more into detail about the book on my YouTube Channel. This is an advanced book so you will need to practice but if you haven’t stepped outside your comfort zone and want to take your magic to the next level pick up the masterpiece known as Mnemonica by Juan Tamariz.

A must-have for anyne interested in mem deck work. Some very strong routines, and an endless stream of brilliant ideas to play with and explore. It's an advanced book and you'll need to spend some time with it to get value, but if you have passion for card magic, it will give you a wonderful return for yoru efforts.
