The Magician asks to borrow a spectators finger ring and promises to 'keep it safe'  As soon as he is given the ring, he locks it onto a brass combination padlock.  The magician reassured the spectator that its nothing to worry about, the ring is totally protected as even he, does not know the combination! DOH!!!

  The spectator can try and guess what it is! The magician explains that the padlock is a 'Psychic lock' and whoever holds it already unconsciously knows the combination! He tells the spectator to try their year of birth.  When they try that date (they never have to reveal it to the magician) The lock snaps open!
