Very informative pamphlet. Lots of advice to avoid the beginner performance pitfalls/mistakes and how to make best use of practise time.

Dominick's book says it all! Short focused repeat practice, etc. Applies to other mental pursuits as well, like learning to perform music. Dai Vernon also made a couple of key points. It must entertain and never belittle the spectator, with series of wrong guesses, for example. Thank you!

So valuable source of inspiration for free, I'm really impressed. When I started reading the book, different questions appeared on my mind, but all these questions were, literally, answered in the further chapters. I've been surprised that the practicing method is somewhat similar to the method I'm using for reading fiction. One book at a time, realistic goals, reading regularly. And choice paralysis doesn't bother me anymore. Looks like I've finally found the way to move forward with my magic hobby, thanks to this book by Dominic Reyes.

Well it's the black wax from Yigal Mesika and is for a particular piece of apparatus, I needed the black wax as it suits the way I do the tricks. Hope that helps excellent product, happy customer I am,✨✨

In my experience I find the hardest part of learning magic, isn’t learning slight of hand, angles, or scripting. It’s finding time to practice and also not be overwhelmed with all the tricks I own! This book helped me so much to take away the stressors and to get the most out of the time I set aside for practice!

Useful information I enjoyed reading it

Although I have worked as a professional close up performer and children's entertainer for over 40 years, recently retired, I still found this book interesting and informative. Everyone can get some good advice from reading it.

Great advice for anybody that is doing magic. There is such a thing as 'over doing it' when practicing your moves. You get tired and "good enough" sets in! This helped me realize what I was doing wrong.

Not a bad primer about practice, though I fundamentally disagree with some of the things Mr. Reyes has to say. I love to practice, so there wasn't much here for me, but if you're starting out and have trouble getting down to work, the suggestions for scheduling and maintaining regular practice times will be helpful.

The PDF put together by Dominic makes perfect sense and addresses points for performing and also things to think about a lot of time and effort has been put into the PDF and is excellent reading recommended to anyone

A great read. Has helped me become more focused and in turn productive in my practicing.

It is always nice to read that there is a bit of freebee waiting for you on a Merchant site! At first, I did not know what to think about Dominique’s invitation to read online his “Approaching Magic Practice”. I am not one for e-books. The cover was not really meaningful to me, and the lay-out left me generally sceptical. Yet…“Do not judge a book by…bla-bla-bla.”, you know what the shoptalk says. Well… That certainly truly verifies with Dominique’s companion for amateur “+” magicians. OMG, I wish I had read these pages decades ago! Not so much that I would have saved a lot of money, but this book is filled with gilt-edged advice, thoughtful, subtle guidance with a practical feel that will speak to whoever takes amateur magic seriously. All good for the future professional as well. The style is deliberately direct, practical, down-to-earth, and clearly there to deliver a lot of VERY USEFUL, clearly tested pointers – and this, whether you need retuning for practicing, purchasing props, building routines, moving professional, being clever with your time and…magic spending! This is 100% effective read because Dominique is also a psychologist by training and knows what he is talking about, whether discussing the source of bad training habits, or just realistically talking to humans, aka "MAGICIANS", with a drive. A clearly effective combo birthed through lifelong passion. ABSOLUTE, ABSOLUTE, fireplace read. I have adopted several of Dominique’s improvements and organizational pointers. And the book is full of them. Yes, you do not need a 10,000-killing drill to be effective in private training. Yes, this book just looks like a wee book, but get closer, and you will see that it is a TERRIFIC read! By the way, this review is 2,000% independent. Cheers to you all of you, MAGICIANS!

There is lots of useful information and it will be very helpful to experienced magicians as well as those just starting to do magic.

I downloaded the book on Friday and I finished on Sunday so 3 days. It was really interesting. Sure I learned a lot that I didn't know beforehand. One of the best books I have read.

I have performed magic for many years, but I seriously think this is a fantastic read for all magicians at all levels.
