The magician places a spectator's signed selection into a small envelope. The card doesn't quite fit all the way inside and the top of the card remains in sight. He removes a small knife and suddenly stabs the blade right through the card and envelope. Somehow, when the knife is removed the card is shown to be completely unharmed!

The magician removes a random card from the deck and hands it to a spectator for examination. He retrieves the card and places it on his open left palm. A borrowed ring or coin is then placed on top of the card and in the blink of an eye it vanishes completely!

The spectator's ring or coin can then be reproduced from the magician's pocket, wallet or anywhere else.
