Let's get one thing clear. This is not a publication you can read once and suddenly be Derren Brown. You need to put plenty of time aside and commit, as much as you would with an A Level exam or degree thesis. When you do however get into this incredible book, you'll hopefully get the same lightbulb moment as I did and start to pick up the skills you need to hypnotise a subject. Slowly slowly catchy monkey as the saying goes, you'll get there but as adverts for tricks and gimmicks go, this is definately not 'self working'...
